The Centre of Excellence in Literature Language and Communication Skill (CELLCS), IEM-Kolkata, University of Engineering and Management Kolkata inaugurated on 12.09.2024 constitutes an intellectually vibrant space for faculty members/ research scholars from different cultural and academic backgrounds committed to the advancing of scholarly inquiry and fostering interdisciplinary research. Anchored in the vision to cultivate literary sensibilities and facilitate global academic exchange, the Centre aspires to enhance linguistic agility, multilingual competence, promoting academic excellence through rigorous engagement with diverse literary traditions and theoretical paradigms. The research domain of the Centre spans across a broad spectrum including Tagore Studies, Ecocriticism, Post-Humanism, Translation Studies, Medical Humanities, and Digital Humanities, Intersectionality Studies, Diaspora, Race and Gender Studies. The Centre promotes Ph. D programs in the aforesaid research areas though not limited to the said domains alone. Currently, 11 students working at the Centre as Ph. D scholars. Furthermore, the Centre propagates its scholarly stature through sustained contributions in both National/ International publications (Scopus, ESCI, UGC-Care listed), signing of MoU's with institutes of National and International repute, organising collaborative academic events like Invited Talk Sessions, International Symposiums, International Conferences, involving in external funded projects, organising Book Launching Sessions by acclaimed National and International authors/ writers and poets. We wish all the success for the multiplication of CELLCS to Multifarious Digressions.
On 12th Sept 2024, the Centre of Excellence in Literature Language and Communication Skills (CELLCS)-IEM-New Town Campus was inaugurated in the august presence of erudite luminaries and academicians acclaimed at the global bench mark. A half- day seminar on English Language and Literature followed by a cultural extravaganza showcased by our very own students was much appreciated with accolades by everyone present.
